Navigation devices, translators and generative AI: artificial assistance systems have long since become an indispensable part of our everyday lives, making our lives easier at the touch of a button. They remind us, navigate, calculate and translate for us. When asked, they make choices and decisions – in short, they think for us. AI is even increasingly being used in creative processes, influencing taste and aesthetic sensibilities. There is no question that AI is getting better and better and its areas of application are expanding. What consequences does this have for us as users? Are we losing important mental abilities? Or are we just thinking differently, better and more efficiently, relieved of time-consuming and tedious tasks?
